Donaghmore holds a lost holy well called St. Patrick's well, about a furlong east of the church. It may have given water for prayer, healing or everyday life before people stopped naming it. The field may still hide a stone mouth, a drowned path or a forgotten basin, waiting for someone to remember the shape of the place.

According to Murphy (1874-9, 114), 'A well, called St. Patrick's well, can be seen about a furlong [c. 200m] east of the church [Donaghmore KK010-005001-], but it is not now held in any veneration'. There is no well indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map or the 1947 revision in this are. The precise location of this well within Donaghmore townland is unknown. St. Patrick's Well in Donaghmore was historically associated with the veneration of St. Patrick, though it is no longer regarded as a site of pilgrimage or ritual. Local tradition may have once linked it to healing or spiritual blessings, as was common with many wells dedicated to the patron saint.
