Holy well in Aillenacally — Report the wrong picture

Below the high-water mark at the northern edge of Roundstone Bay, a smooth thirty-centimetre pothole cuts through ancient rock. Local story links the water to St Columcille, while a broken cairn still marks the eastern outcrop. The hole is so deep and even it seems more like a made vessel than a natural wound, waiting for hands that have forgotten how to pray.

Below HWM at N end of Roundstone Bay. Associated locally with St Columcille, it consists of a fine, smooth, deep, round pothole (D 0.3m), with the remains of a small cairn on the rock outcrop beside it to E (info. T. Robinson).
