Knockmoy Abbey stands beside three holy wells, including Tubber-na-Fion, which local story claims tastes like wine, and Frinchais, which people believed could heal serious illness. The abbey has fallen into ruin, but the wells remain active in memory and may still give water to those who find them. They turn a lost monastery into a living place where faith, medicine and curiosity still meet.

Associated with Knockmoy Abbey (GA058-004001-). Glynn (1904, 239), notes the presence of three wells in the vicinity of the abbey as follows: 'To the east of the abbey is ... Tubber Cathal [GA058-004007-]; to the north another called Tubber-na-Fion [GA058-004008-], supposed to have the same effect as wine; and a third called Frinchais [GA058-004009-], believed to have powerful medicinal properties'.
