Knockmoy Abbey stood beside three wells, each with its own gift: Tubber Cathal to the east, Tubber-na-Fion to the north, and Frinchais for medicine. People drank from them or dipped cloth in them, trusting water to do what prayer and herbs could not. The abbey is gone or hidden now, but the wells may still give themselves out to whoever arrives asking rather than doubting.

Associated with Knockmoy Abbey (GA058-004001-). Glynn (1904, 239), notes the presence of three wells in the vicinity of the abbey as follows: 'To the east of the abbey is ... Tubber Cathal [GA058-004007-]; to the north another called Tubber-na-Fion [GA058-004008-], supposed to have the same effect as wine; and a third called Frinchais [GA058-004009-], believed to have powerful medicinal properties'.
