Holy Well, Balnaboth

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Holy Well, Balnaboth as Holy Well (medieval)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

This holy well is associated with Saint Bothan, a 6th-century Irish monk and missionary who is traditionally linked to Cumbria and parts of northern England and Scotland. Local tradition holds that the well was believed to have healing properties, particularly for skin ailments and eye complaints, and was likely a site of pilgrimage and ritual in the medieval period.
