Holed stone in Ballymore Eustace East is a granite block at the east end of a graveyard, pierced by a smooth circular hole wide enough for a child’s fist. It is not a monument to a named king or a dated battle, but a small stubborn marker: a grave, a boundary, a offering place, or a warning that the land remembers what people forget. The hole does not ask to be believed, only to be seen.

According to Bradley et al. (1986, vol. 1, 80), it lies at the E end of a graveyard (KD029-011004-). A rectangular granite block (L 0.68m; Wth 0.44m; H 0.22m) contains a circular hole (diam. 0.14m). Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 30 August 2013
