HMS Loch Shiel

Wreck

What is recorded here

The National Monuments Record of Wales records HMS Loch Shiel as Wreck from the Modern period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
HMS Loch Shiel was a British Loch-class sloop that was lost in 1942 during World War II after striking a mine off the coast of Wales. The vessel was part of the Royal Navy's anti-submarine and convoy escort fleet, and its loss contributed to the high casualties among smaller warships during the Battle of the Atlantic.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
