Promontory Fort at Sheep Island, Castle Section

Sheep Island still wears its fort like a bracelet, a stone ring clamped to the promontory where Pembrokeshire seawater presses close. The multiperiod label suggests more than one generation built, broke or remembered the place, yet no single date or name has stepped forward to claim the work. Maybe it was a watchtower, a boundary marker or a child’s maze for storms.
