Hillfort in Fawnlion stands on the steeper of two Doons, its double rampart guarding a flat summit plateau eighty by one hundred metres wide. The hidden works include a possible kerb-circle, a sunken hollow enclosure and two hut-sites, suggesting people lived, marked and shaped the high ground before the hills gave the place back to grass and memory.

Situated on top of the more easterly of two hills known as ‘The Doons’ and named as such on the 1910 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. The hills rise to c. 255m OD and are steep sided. Discovered in 2012 the remains comprise a double rampart enclosing the top of the hill. The inner rampart encloses a very flat summit plateau c. 80m by c. 100m with traces of a probable outer enclosing element visible to the E and N. Inside the inner rampart at the S is a possible kerb-circle (LE010-085004-) and towards the centre of the plateau is a possible enclosure defined as a sunken hollow (LE010-085001-) while 13m NE of these are two hut-sites (LE010-085002-; LE010-085003-).
