Grey Mare's Tail, Poisoned Glen

waterfall

What is recorded here

A tall thin fall high in the Poisoned Glen under Errigal and the Derryveagh mountains, one of a few Grey Mare's Tails in the country named for the way the water streams out like a horse's tail. Reached by a walk up the glen past the ruined church.
Grey Mare's Tail is a dramatic 80-metre-high waterfall located in the Poisoned Glen, near the Derryveagh Mountains in County Donegal, Ireland. Surrounded by rugged mountain scenery and remote peatland, it is one of the highest waterfalls in the west of Ireland and is well worth visiting for its striking visual impact and the sense of wild isolation it offers.
