Greg Ness is a coastal headland composed primarily of Old Red Sandstone, formed during the Devonian period around 400 million years ago. The rock was deposited in ancient river and delta systems and is notable for its resistant nature, which has allowed it to withstand coastal erosion and form a prominent landform in the Aberdeen area.
