Graveyard in Unknown Townland stands beside the C of I church dedicated to St. Assin, rebuilt in 1712 on an earlier site in County Dublin. A stone wall encloses the place, and a steep fall of 1.9m drops from the interior to street level, making entry feel like descending into memory rather than walking through a gate. The unknown townland gives the graveyard its quiet mystery, while St. Assin and the rebuilt church give it a name, a date and a continuing life.
