Killalongford holds a forty-two-metre circular graveyard marked by a barely visible bank, preserving the death-place of a church said to have been founded by Croine Beg about AD 550. The church itself has vanished, leaving only the boundary of its buried people and the quiet certainty that they were set apart from the living field.

According to McDonald (Carloviana 1981, 13) the church (CW009-034----) is said to have been founded by Croine Beg about AD 550. Circular area (diam. 42m) defined by very low bank (H 0.1-0.2m; Wth c. 1m) appears to be the graveyard (CW009-034002-) which is depicted on the 1839 'OS 6-inch' map as a triangular area and on the later ed. as a roughly circular area. A circular enclosure, possibly early medieval in date, associated with a church founded in the 6th century; its function and wider significance remain unclear.
