Mounds of an old disused burial ground in Cullenagh, once considerable in height during the eighteenth century, have since sunk until they are almost level with the surrounding field. Tradition claims an ancient church formerly stood there, though no building remains to mark the exact spot. The earth has absorbed the structure and the dead, leaving only a faint ridge for the living to imagine.

Described as a 'mound of an old disused burial-ground, in the eighteenth century of considerable height, but now almost level with the surrounding field, may be observed on the spot; while tradition avers that an ancient church formerly stood there' (O'Hanlon and O'Leary 1907, vol. 1, 188).
