What is recorded here
Clooncah bog swallowed a church and graveyard at Mairin, erasing the stones beneath water and reed. That loss is not forgetfulness, but a warning: when a place stops being visible, it must be remembered or it disappears completely.
A church and graveyard in Clooncah bog at a place known as Mairin is mentioned in the schools manuscripts (IFC Schools MSS, vol. 1270) (Pers. Com. H. Ryan). It was not encountered.
