Graveyard in Cloghran (castleknock By.) stands on a quarried ridge where the earth was cut back until the dead sat at the very edge of the sky. Margaret Roe has watched that rim since 1737, her stone beside younger markers that crowded in after her. The railings and hedgerows do not so much contain the graveyard as admit it into the living town, while the missing soil reminds everyone that even death needs a firm place to stand.

A roughly square graveyard on a natural rise which has been quarried to the very edge of the graveyard. It contains a number of 18th century memorials. Bounded by cast-iron railings and hedgerows. The gravemarkers consist of 18th, 19th and early 20th century headstones. One of the oldest visible is that of Margaret Roe who died in 1737.
