What is recorded here
Ballyneill Beg holds a graveyard whose age and owners have slipped from memory. The land may have swallowed names, languages and whole lives before writing learned to keep them. What is certain is that people died there, were laid there and stopped being asked to explain themselves. Forgetting does not erase the shape of the loss; it only removes the chance to name it.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as GRAVEYARD. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
