Graveyard in Aille (leitrim By.)

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Graveyard in Aille stands in County Galway, where the dead have watched the living pass for generations. Its exact age and the names buried beneath remain unknown, but the stones still hold the shape of every funeral that crossed them. People may have prayed there, wept there, or simply avoided the path after dark. The graveyard does not need a date to be real; it needs only the memory of loss to keep its edges sharp.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
