What is recorded here

Kilcoltrim still holds the graveslab, though it has become a gate pillar. The tapering granite pillar carries a Maltese cross in relief, marking a boundary between the living and the remembered. It is not certain when the cross was cut, but the stone has clearly survived the rearrangement of human life around it. What was once a grave marker now stands at an entrance, still doing the same work in a new shape: holding a line between worlds.

In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Slightly tapering, squared granite pillar, (H 1.36m; 0.31-0.24m x 0.26m). Maltese cross in relief (0.31m x 0.39m). Date uncertain. Now used as gate pillar.
