Graveslab in Townparks (balrothery East By.) is a 16th-century stone dedicated to Richard Delahide of Loughshinny, who died in 1587, and his wife Maria. Discovered in Holmpatrick graveyard in 1856, it now stands set in concrete against the south wall of an 18th-century bell-tower built on the site of the Augustinian Priory. The Latin inscription beneath their armorial plaques still names them, preserving a noble birth and a shared death across centuries of change.

Discovered in Holmpatrick graveyard (DU005-031002-) in 1856 and now set in concrete against the external face of the S wall of the 18th century bell-tower that was built on the site of the Augustinian Priory (DU005-031----) there is a 16th-century graveslab dedicated to Richard de La Hoyde (Delahide] of Loughshinny (d. 1587). The Latin inscription beneath the armorial plaques of Richard Delahide and his wide Maria reads; 'Hic Iacet Richardus Delahide Loghshinne Generosus Qui Obiit XXVIII Novembris Anno 1587 Et Maria Delahid Uxor Eius Qui Obiit' which translates into English as 'Here Lies Richard Delahide of Noble Birth of Loughshinny who died 28 November Year 1587 and Maria Delahide his wife who died' Compiled by: Geraldine Stout Updated by: Christine Baker Revised by: Caimin O'Brien Date of revised upload: 13 March 2023
