Graveslab in Ross (clare By.) is a rectangular stone dated 1671, lying flat in the SE transept of the friary church. It widens toward the bottom, bears a Latin cross with a stepped base, and carries the names John T Nuhil and his wife Oner Murish around its edge. The lower right side still shows mason’s tool marks, as if the maker had stepped back only moments before the stone was lowered into the dark church floor.

This inscribed rectangular graveslab (L 1.64m; Wth at top 0.68m; 0.78m at bottom; T 0.12m), dated 1671, is on floor of the SE transept of the friary church (GA041-047----). It widens from the top of the slab to the bottom and it bears a Latin cross with straight terminals and a shaft that ends on a stepped base. It bears the following inscription, running around its edge: FOR THE SOULS OF JOHN T NUHIL AND HIS WIFE ONER MURISH 1671. Tools associated with a mason are evident on the lower right-hand side of the slab.
