Graveslab in Newtown (baker) lies inside the medieval church of Newtown Earley, County Kilkenny, Ireland. It measures 1.92m long and 0.73m wide, bearing a raised floriated cross, the Sweetman family shield and an Old English inscription for William Sweetman, Baron of Erley, and his wife Johanna Tobyn. The slab emerged during a graveyard clean-up in 1985-7, returning a forgotten burial marker to the place where it belonged.

Associated with the medieval church of Newtown Earley (KK027-012001-) and uncovered during a clean-up of graveyard in 1985-7 (KK027-012009-) (Harte 1987, 408-17). Currently lying within the church. Described by Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 327) as a, 'floor-slab with raised floriated cross down the centre; a shield charged with the arms of the Sweetman family, viz. ermine, a fesse, in base a chevron; and the following raised Old English inscription round the edge:- Hic jacent Willms Swetman baro de Eriey & Joha Tobyn ei exor quor. aiab ppiciet' deus.qi obit Ao di mcccccvii. Ame. Translation- Here lie William Sweetman, Baron of Erley, who died A.D. 1507, and his wife Johanna Tobyn. On whose souls God have mercy. Amen'.
