Graveslab in Limerick City,englishtown preserves a small limestone fragment from 1673, bearing the incised name John Wools and the fragmentary date [16]73. It lies between the first and second pier on the north side of the nave in St. Mary's Cathedral, measuring only 0.42m long and 0.34m wide. What remains is a narrow strip of a larger grave marker, reduced by time but still clear enough to identify the person it covered.
