Kilnamona church in County Clare still holds the graveslab of Maria Considine, who commissioned its making in 1697. Her name and date remain carved in the NE corner, marking a private act of piety that outlived the person who ordered it.
Situated in the NE corner of Kilnamona church (CL033-006001-). This record is for the memorial of Maria Considine. The inscription reads ‘Maria Considine… fieri fecit ano dni 1697’. (Westropp 1896, 228). Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 18 May 2016
