Graveslab in Gardens (kilkenny City By., St. Mary’s Par.) stands inside St Francis' Abbey, its limestone surface catching light from the east window. A trefoil-headed cross rises from a curving mount marked by a skull and cross bones, while the upper edge remains blank. The slab was reset during 19th-century restoration, perhaps in 1868-71, pulling an older death out of obscurity and into the abbey wall.

In St Francis' Abbey (KK019-026101-). A rectangular limestone graveslab (L 1.865m; Wth 0.6m) inserted in the inner face of the E wall of the abbey, beneath the E window. The wall was refaced in the 19th-century, probably as part of the restoration work in 1868-71 (Bradley 1980, 14, no. 50). It is decorated with a three-armed trefoil-headed cross with lozenge centre. The cross-shaft springs from a curving Calvary mount which incorporates a skull and cross bones. The cross-head and shaft are highlighted by a continuous border in low relief. The upper end of the slab (L 0.55m) is completely blank. The remainder of the slab, which is the portion occupied by the cross, has a border consisting of a narrow band (Wth 0.025m) in low relief.
