Graveslab

What is recorded here

Breaken graveslab from St Francis' Abbey, Kilkenny. The upper fragment holds half a cross and the name Cliftun, carved in Lombardic script along its edge. A steep chamfer cuts both sides of the limestone, shaping a small tomb into something a hand could still hold.
