Graveslab in Gardens (kilkenny City By., St. Mary’s Par.) preserves the upper portion of a limestone slab where an eight-armed cross projects from a circular centre. Its truncated fleur-de-lis and cross-head suggest recutting, yet the surviving lines remain precise enough to show that death was marked with care. In St Francis' Abbey, the fragment still invites wonder about the person buried beneath it and the hands that shaped stone for grief.

In St Francis' Abbey (KK019-026101-). The upper portion of a limestone graveslab (L 0.85m; Wth 0.35m; D 0.15m) which appears to have been recut as, though the sides are straight, the very top of the upper fleur-de-lis and the sinister side of the cross-head have been truncated. It has incised decoration, consisting of an eight-armed cross-head with fleur-de-lis terminals, the arms projecting from an intermittently incised circular centre. There is an incised circular knop immediately below the lowest cross-arm and at the top of the incised cross-shaft. The graveslab is described and illustrated in Bradley (1980, 14, 21, no. 47). Medieval Christian graveslab, 13th–14th century. The presence of a fleur-de-lis motif indicates a possible ecclesiastical or aristocratic association, reflecting the religious and artistic traditions of the Irish medieval period.
