Graveslab fragments lie scattered in St. Francis' Abbey, their tapering limestone edges chamfered and one cross-shaft defaced. They may belong to a single buried life, yet they survive only as broken pieces. The missing arms and base suggest a violent interruption, leaving the identity and story of the deceased forever concealed beneath silence.

In St. Francis' Abbey (KK019-026101-). A fragment of a tapering limestone graveslab (L 0.43m; Wth 0.28m; D 0.12m) with chamfered sides. A length of one, possibly the dexter, side survives. The graveslab is decorated with a raised cross, though only the defaced cross-shaft survives. The edges of the slab have a raised border. It is similar in style to two another fragments (KK019-026538- and KK019-026539-) which may be from the same graveslab. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly
