What is recorded here

Graveslab in Ballynacourty, County Galway, is a burial marker set into the western landscape. The name itself admits the function: a place where death was recorded, remembered and perhaps visited. Little public detail remains, but the act of carving or setting a slab suggests someone wanted the dead to remain visible. In that small gesture lives a whole community, naming its losses and shaping the field around them.
