Graveslab in Ballymore Eustace East stands in the SE corner of a graveyard, a gently tapering granite slab rising 1.1m from the earth. Rain has worn its incised Latin cross into a ghost, yet the stone still points east as if waiting for light. It is the kind of marker that does not explain itself; it simply refuses to leave, holding a name the wind has already taken.
