Graveslab in Athasselabbey North

In the chancel of the Augustian abbey (TS068-013---) at Athassel adjacent to another graveslab (TS068-013015-), it is currently in the SE angle, 0.1m from the S wall and 0.5m from the E gable. It is described by Maher (1997, 53) as a fragment of a slab (L 0.9m; Wth 0.44m; average T 0.16m) with 'part of two original edges, including the bottom one and the dexter one remain at right angles to one another'. Two of the edges have an undercut chamfer (Wth 0.13m). There is visible inscription or design. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 3 June 2014
