What is recorded here

Graveslab in Ardfert is one of nine limestone slabs lying flat inside the Franciscan friary church, marked as National Monument No. 358 but still without a clear date. They may have covered ordinary people, local leaders or visiting friars, yet no name survives on their worn surfaces. The chamber above them has probably echoed with prayers, silence and footsteps for centuries, while the dead beneath remained nameless. Memory failed, but the stones still hold the shape of what was lost.

According to the 'Urban Archaeology Survey of County Kerry' (Bradley, Halpin and King n.d., 49), this is one of 'nine limestone slabs of undetermined date' which lie on the ground in the floor of the church of the Franciscan friary (KE020-047----).
