Graveslab in Ardfert is one of nine limestone slabs lying flat in the church floor of the Franciscan friary. Their date remains unknown, but they mark buried bodies and forgotten hours when Ardfert still drew people into its streets. A person may have knelt beside one slab, praying for someone they loved, while elsewhere in the town children ran past the friary wall. The stones do not claim to be grand; they wait beneath feet, holding dead nameless people close to the living.

National Monument No. 358. According to the 'Urban Archaeology Survey of County Kerry' (Bradley, Halpin and King n.d., 49), this is one of 'nine limestone slabs of undetermined date' which lie on the ground in the floor of the church of the Franciscan friary (KE020-047----).
