What is recorded here

Grave Yd. remains an active burial place on a Kildare crest, where legible 18th-century markers still stand beside a ruined church. The graveyard sits slightly above the surrounding pasture, enclosed by a modern stone wall, while a ruined castle watches from two hundred metres away. People have kept returning to this small raised ground for centuries, trusting that the dead belong somewhere they can still be found.

On a level crest at the SE end of a low, NW-SE pasture ridge. A ruined castle (KD003-012----) is visible c. 200m to the SE. A sub-rectangular area (dims. L c. 50m E-W; Wth c. 40m ) is raised slightly (H 1m) above the surrounding ground and is enclosed by a modern stone wall. It contains a ruined church (KD003-011001-) outside of which a possible 17th century grave slab (KD003-011003-) was previously recorded. Legible grave markers date from the 18thC and the graveyard is still in use, with burials concentrated to the S of the church.
