Grave Yd is a roadside graveyard on a north-facing slope in County Cork, Ireland. It holds the ruin of Kilbonane parish church and rows of low stones, some marked only by silence. People have buried their dead there since at least 1727, laying out lives and losses on open land. The place still receives the occasional funeral, keeping its old purpose alive.
Roadside, on N-facing slope; subcircular graveyard (c. 40m E-W; c. 35m N-S) enclosed by stone-faced earthen bank. In N half, ruin of parish church of Kilbonane (CO084-012002-). In occasional use; earliest headstone noted dated 1758, though Brunicardi (1913, 36) noted headstone dated 1727; to S of church noticeable concentration of low uninscribed gravestones.
