Grave Yard stands north of Youghal beside the ruined Dominican North Abbey, holding inscribed stones from 1732 and a disputed 1550 marker. The narrow rectangular churchyard remains active, marking local death and memory alongside ancient religious wreckage. New graves still join the old line, keeping the place alive rather than frozen into history.

On N side of Youghal, containing ruins of Dominican friary known as North Abbey (CO067-030002-). 1842 OS 6-inch map shows rectangular yard (c. 8m NW-SE; c. 60m NE-SW); a large recent extension has been added to NW. Contains many 18th and 19th century inscribed headstones, dating from 1732 (O'Shea 1988; Coleman 1921-5)), though Hayman (1855, 333-4) records 'tomb-stone' with date of 1550 as oldest in yard. Still in use. In late 1980s a FAS scheme recorded inscriptions here. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
