In the west of Ireland, where the land is old enough to remember every footfall, a graveyard stands as a witness to the lives that turned to soil. The dead are not forgotten there; they are embedded in the grass, the stones, the rain. To walk beside them is to admit that continuity, not conquest, is the truest force on earth.
