What is recorded here

Thirty paces north to south and thirty east to west, the graveyard holds its shape like a room built for waiting. The medieval church ruins stand in the north-east quadrant, not centred as if important but set aside as if listening. The post-1700 stone wall and its northern stile suggest people still came through, perhaps to visit, perhaps to keep the dead company. Knocklong does not sound like a place forgotten; it sounds like a place that stopped answering names.

Medieval graveyard associated with the ruins of a church; dates to the late medieval period. Its significance lies in its connection to the ecclesiastical and community history of the Knocklong area.
