What is recorded here

Grave Yard is a semicircular graveyard on the south end of Whiddy Island in County Cork. Its curving earthen bank and stone-faced edge still mark an early church enclosure, while low uninscribed graves cluster near the off-centre church. The overgrown slope and eastern gates suggest a small coastal community buried beside the sea for generations.

On SE-facing slope at S end of Whiddy Island. Semicircular enclosure defined by curving earthen bank of early ecclesiastical enclosure (CO118-087---) from E-NW, and by linear stone-faced earthen bank (H 1m) from NW-E. Entrance gates to E. Interior overgrown; slopes to ESE with uneven surface. Church (CO118-001002-) off centre to N. Low uninscribed gravemarkers mainly confined to S and E; three late 19th century headstones to W of church.
