What is recorded here

Grave Yard in Derryco, County Kerry occupies a narrow promontory beside the Cashen River, where marsh and estuary once pressed close around a small church ruin. The graveyard still receives the dead, holds inscribed stones and simple unmarked graves, and stands beneath the distant watch of Knockanore Mountain. Local tradition speaks of an early monastic settlement, but the visible place is quieter: a ruined church, ivy-covered gate piers, and human loss buried beside living water.
