What is recorded here
Grave Yard in County Mayo, Ireland is a children's burial ground. It is not clear when the children died, why they gathered there or who tended them. The place still belongs to the living because remembering children requires patience, compassion and the courage to imagine what loss felt like before records existed.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
