Grave Yard

Near the top of a gentle E-facing pasture slope. An overgrown D-shaped area (diam. c. 47m WNW-ESE) with a straight W side (L c. 42m NNE-SSW) is enclosed by a low earthen bank (int. H 0.5-0.7m; Wth 3.1-3.8m; ext H 1.2-1.6m) and shallow outer fosse (Wth 1.2-2.3m; D 0.2-0.4m). A Neolithic passage tomb; its D-shaped enclosure and earthen bank suggest a ceremonial or burial function. Its location and construction are typical of early farming communities in the region.
