In pasture, 150m E of townland boundary with Ballygillane. An enclosure (LI048-029----) lies 310m to the SW. Annotated 'Gotoon Fort' on OSi historic maps. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a circular-shaped area enclosed by a bank, intersected at N, E and SW by post-1700 field boundaries. Shown as a polygonal shaped field on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map, with curving scarp outside field boundaries at NW. Monument visible as a sub-circular shaped area (dims. c. 60m N-S; 62m E-W) enclosed by field boundaries on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages.
