Glensanda Castle is a roofless medieval tower house perched on a rock outcrop at the mouth of Glen Sanda, built during the 15th century. Its thick walls still rise to parapet level above a ruined outbuilding and a reed-grown hollow that may have been a well. Local story credits Ewen MacLean, 5th of Kingairloch, with its construction, while the names Maiden's Castle and Castle Mearnaig suggest a life of pride, fear or loss that has faded from memory.
