What is recorded here

Detached two-bay two-storey house, built c.1930, having five-bay side (south) elevation and ruins of attached outbuilding to side (north). Hipped slate roof with rendered and red-brick chimneystacks, uPVC clad eaves and replacement uPVC rainwater goods. Rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with render sills and one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows and some replacement timber casement windows to ground floors of side (north and west) elevations. Round-headed door opening to front (east) elevation having channelled render surround and replacement timber panelled door surmounted by overlight. Square-headed door opening to side (north) elevation having timber panelled door. Rubble stone and rendered enclosing walls to east having render coping, square-profile gate piers and double-leaf wrought-iron gates to main entrance. Double-leaf corrugated-iron gates to secondary entrance to north-east.
Much of the character of this early twentieth century house is depends on the retention of the timber sliding sash windows. The hipped roof, regular proportions and round-headed doorcase are features that were often used for middle sized nineteenth century houses set within their own grounds, and it is a template which was repeated into the first decades of the twentieth century.
