Glebe Coastal Promontory Fort stands on the east shore of Lough Swilly, cut off from mainland walking by a chasm that has swallowed the path. It is marked as an enclosure on the 3rd edition of the OS 6-inch map and sits near another small promontory fort. The sea may have taken the land bridge, leaving the fort isolated like a forgotten room in a drowned house.
