No wall, ditch or earth remains visible at the former Meenalooban Fairy Fort, though an old survey marked a single-ringed oval on boggy ground beside a cliff above Lough Swilly. The lake may have taken it, or people may have stopped seeing it as a fort and begun calling it a fairy place. Either way, the forgoing of a human boundary and the giving of that same boundary to unseen inhabitants is the real transformation.

There is no sign of the single-ringed oval enclosure shown on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map. It was situated on boggy land near a cliff edge overlooking Lough Swilly.
