Giant's Grave

One chamber became a giant, the giant became a grave, the grave became a trench, and the trench became nothing visible at all. That is the whole life of Giant's Grave in County Cavan: a small stone hiding place dressed up by imagination, measured twice by mapmakers, scraped open once by curiosity, then filled back into ordinary earth. The bigger the name, the less there is left to show it.
