George and Edward Dalziel were founders of the renowned wood engraving firm Dalziel Brothers, known for their illustrations in Lewis Carroll's *Alice's Adventures in Wonderland* and *Through the Looking-Glass*. They lived at this site from 1888 to 1902, a period during which they produced some of the most iconic 19th-century book illustrations.
