What is recorded here
Gay Byrne was born in Rialto, Dublin, in 1934 and became the voice of Irish television when he hosted The Late Late Show from 1962 to 1999. He also introduced the Beatles on screen and filled weekday mornings with The Gay Byrne Show for twenty-five years. People called him Uncle Gay because his warmth made strangers feel like family, and that affection turned a national broadcast into a shared living room.
